ABOUT

We built the practice we couldn't find.

Shift Happens was born from lived experience, ours as parents. Like so many families, we faced a swirl of emotions, uncertainties, and dead ends trying to find the right support for our kid. So we built what we wished had existed.

Three young girls in plush terrycloth robes and hair rollers in their hair, sitting closely together, engaging with hair curlers in a playful manner.

OUR STORY

Why we started Shift Happens.

The path was harder than it should have been.

We knew our daughter had so much potential. But navigating systems, services, and providers, especially ones that didn't quite "get" her, was draining and often destabilizing. The wrong fit didn't just slow her progress; it introduced new stressors into our home.

What was supposed to help ended up hurting.

At one point, we realized: the traditional path wasn't going to get us where we needed to go.

So we chose a different route, one grounded in compassion, partnership, and a belief in what's possible.

We were lucky to cross paths with someone who made a profound difference in our daughter's life. That partnership changed everything. And it sparked a bigger idea: what if more families could have this kind of support?

Together, we're building Shift Happens: in-home wraparound for families raising kids with ADHD. Concierge. Parent-centric. Non-therapeutic. Coordinated with the care team. The practice we wished we'd had, now built for families like ours, in Philadelphia.

We started this for our family. We're building it for every family who shouldn't have to do it alone.

OUR FOUNDERS

Three founders. One mission.

Tracey Keele

Tracey Keele

Co-Founder & Chief Experience Officer

Executive. Culture Strategist. Mom on a Mission.

Hi, I'm Tracey. For nearly 30 years, I've helped large, complex organizations work better, by creating the conditions where people do their best work.

That belief, that people flourish when conditions are right, has fueled my career. And now, it fuels Shift Happens.

Because stronger parents translate into stronger families. That's why we're here.

Beyond Shift Happens, purpose fuels me. In work, at home, and in the community I serve, I champion children and fight poverty and injustice. I co-lead the Strategic Growth Council for Covenant House PA and serve on the Life Science Cares Board of Advisors. I love exploring all that Philly offers (the food, the culture, the history) with my beautiful, adventurous family.

Co-Founder & Chief Researcher

Professor. Problem Solver. Parent with purpose.

Hi, I'm Luke. I'm a Professor of Applied Statistics at the University of Pennsylvania, where I focus on health services research and program evaluation.

When our daughter needed support, I did what I do best: I went to work, studying options, evaluating resources, and tracking down the people and programs that could help.

We're working to close the gap for families like ours.

Away from the desk, I'm busy rock climbing, running, reading novels, cooking, and looking for frogs and tadpoles with my daughter.

Care Strategist. Child Advocate. Family Ally.

Hi, I'm Megan. I'm a licensed social worker, child advocate, and Co-Founder & Chief Family Officer at Shift Happens.

I design how families experience our work. I work closely with parents and their extended support teams to define goals and make shift happen together.

I've supported families navigating ADHD, autism, anxiety, mood disorders, and ODD.

I hold a Bachelor's in Psychology and a Master of Social Work from Temple University.

Outside of work, you can find me spending time with my dog Yoda, hanging out with friends and family, and cheering on all things Philly sports. Go Birds!

OUR PRINCIPLES

What we believe.

The parent is the lever.

When parents feel capable, kids do better. The real work is what the parent takes into the day, the morning, the bedtime, the long arc. We invest in you because that's where lasting change takes root.

ADHD is wiring, not pathology.

ADHD asks something different of every household. We help you understand how your kid is wired and translate that into a home that works for them, for you, for everyone.

The home is the unit of change.

A strategy that lives in a clinic is only an idea. A strategy that works in your morning, your homework hour, your bedtime is real change. We work where life happens, alongside you, until the new way of doing things feels like the new normal.

We coordinate. We translate. We add.

Your kid's care team stays intact. Our role is to help you turn their recommendations into what you do, and to help everyone in your kid's world move in the same direction, speaking the same language.

No judgment lives here.

We get how hard this can feel. How isolating. How messy. We're not here to judge. We’re in your corner, here to help you make the shift you need and want for your family.

Let's see if we're a fit.

Schedule a 20-minute discovery call. We'll talk through what you're navigating and whether Shift Happens is the right fit for your family.
